SOEs & Winter Olympics: CETC Manages Competition Zone Traffic Via Smart Data Technology

Updated: 2022-02-10

China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) is using big data technology to play a key role in traffic management in competition zones of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

In order to improve traffic management capacities like data sharing and monitoring of travel services in Chongli, a competition zone of the undergoing Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in North China's Hebei Province, CETC launched a smart transportation project in the region that includes a smart comprehensive transportation control center, a smart transportation data convergence platform, a parking information service system, a travel service system, a parking guidance system and a smart bus system.

The project is expected to accumulate experience for smart traffic construction in districts and counties, which will help meet public demand.

Traffic conditions, vehicle operation and occupancy rates of venues and stations in the Zhangjiakou competition area is comprehensively monitored via information technology during the Games.

The sub-center of the Traffic Operations Coordinating and Command Center (TOCC) in Zhangjiakou is playing a crucial role in daily management of traffic operations in the region.

It collects the entire traffic data in Zhangjiakou and connects departments like public security, meteorology and civil aviation for sharing of traffic condition data, which improves traffic monitoring management and scheduling capacity during the Games.

CETC also built systems for monitoring and early warning, traffic emergency response and command, multi-method and multi-level information distribution and data coordination and sharing to guarantee efficient, fast, safe and reliable traffic during the Games.
