Vietnam's Largest Inland Wind Power Project Completes Blower Hoisting

Updated: 2022-02-09

Wind blowers at the 155-megawatt Cho Long wind farm of the Gia Lai wind power project, the largest inland wind power project in Vietnam, completed hoisting on Jan 15, 2022.

Located about 125 kilometers from the Port of Qui Nhon, the Gia Lai power project includes the 145-MW Yang Trung and 155-MW Cho Long wind farms. It is designed and built by subsidiaries of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China Group).

Once operational, the Gia Lai project is expected to generate 900 million kilowatt-hours of power annually, which will effectively relieve power shortages in the country and promote local infrastructure construction.

It will also contribute to Vietnam's social and economic development by creating nearly 1,000 jobs for local people and push forward transformation of the country's national energy structure.
