Updated: 2022-01-26

The Telecom Technology Operations Center (TTOC) of China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. (China Unicom) was officially launched on Jan 10, 2022, ready to guarantee command and dispatch work of the upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

On its launch day, the center unveiled the Winter Olympic communication guarantee system through three-dimensional (3D) technology.

During the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the command and operation network, the Broadcast Contribution Network (BCN) and the basic communication services of all events will be connected to all venues through the Olympic transport network.

Located on the west side of Xiuchi Pond in Shougang Park, Beijing, the TTOC center is a brand-new comprehensive monitoring system, integrated fault scheduling system and network digital operation platform for the Winter Olympics.

During the Winter Olympics the center will carry out unified real-time monitoring, automatic inspection, scheduling, response and service for the communication information network of all Olympic venues in the three competition zones in Beijing and Zhangjiakou.

Unified monitoring of venue resources, OBS business of the Olympic Committee, media buses, the airport highway and information security indicators will be implemented based on the network digital operation platform.

The platform will also be used to ensure 5G slicing service, public network intercom, "media+business" and other innovative applications during the Winter Olympics.

At present, 78 experts from various departments of China Unicom are placed in the TTOC center to provide cross-domain and international services throughout the Winter Olympics period, offering 24/7 technical support to all venues.

Mixed reality (MR) digital venue monitoring technology is also adopted to provide an immersive venue group business indicator management system. The new technology based on augmented reality (AR), dynamic modeling and positioning and machine vision is expected to realize millimeter-level precise positioning and help experts at the center and engineers in the venues work together.
