Updated: 2022-01-18

The world's largest container ship, with a capacity of 24,000 TEU, the first of its kind made by China, was launched at the No. 1 dock of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd.'s Changxing Base on Dec 29, 2021.

It was a major breakthrough in the country's ultra-large container ship construction industry.

Independently designed by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, the ship is 399.99 meters long, 61.5 meters wide and 33.2 meters deep.

With complete independent intellectual property rights, it is equipped with the hybrid Scrubber desulfurization facility and adopts the latest green, energy-saving, high-efficiency and safe technologies owned by the company.

The company took orders for 13 large container vessels in 2021 and has delivered six. It is currently working on construction of 19 large container vessels.
