Longest Vehicular Tunnel in Macao Opens to Traffic

The Ká Hó Tunnel linking east Cotai and Coloane, the longest vehicular tunnel in Macao, opened to traffic on Dec 10.

With a total length of 500 meters, the double-hole tunnel has a speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour and is expected to improve traffic connection between Macao and the offshore islands.

China Gezhouba Group No. 2 Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited, was mainly responsible for its construction.

Once operational, the tunnel will reduce driving time between the two terminals and improve local traffic conditions.
