Sinomach to Participate in $1.8 Billion Railway Project in Turkey

China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach) recently signed a contract for the Aksaray-Ulukisla-Yenice railway project in Turkey.

It will be the first railway in Aksaray.

Valued at about $1.8 billion, the contract covers building of a 196-kilometer double-track electrified passenger railway with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour.

The design, purchase and construction of the project will be jointly undertaken by Sinomach's subsidiary China Machinery Engineering Corporation and local Turkish companies.

China Machinery Engineering Corporation will be mainly responsible for supply and engineering of communication, electric, signal and interaction facilities as well as systems and steel rails.

Upon completion, the railway is expected to promote social and economic development in affected areas.
