DEC-Built Hydropower Project in PNG Starts Operation

The Valengo Hydropower Project in Papua New Guinea (PNG) was recently put into operation, contributing to the local clean energy supply, improving local livelihoods and boosting regional economic development.

Built by Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC), the project included design and construction of the capital hydropower hub, diversion tunnel, workshops and switching stations. The company was also responsible for the supply, installation and adjustment of the hydropower station's metal structure and electromechanical equipment.

At present, the project is under the last stage of construction.
