China's First Green and Smart Side Coal Recovery Project for Open Pit Breaks Ground

Construction of a safe, highly-efficient, green and smart side coal recovery demonstration project for open pit mine recently started at Pingshuo Antaibaoe Surface Mine in Shanxi Province.

The project intends to improve open pit mine development, eliminating potential side risks and promoting exploitation efficiency and comprehensive utilization. It is also expected to push forward energy production revolution and intensive resource use in China.

The project was shouldered by Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd of China Coal Technology and Engineering Group (CCTEG), which focuses on green energy technology development.

Other affiliated institutes of CCTEG also contributed to the development of the project.

The side coal recovery technology and equipment to be used in the project is able to recover 800,000 metric tons of coal annually.
