China's First Self-Operated Deepwater Oilfield Cluster Sees Over 5m Cu M Crude Output

Updated: 2021-11-26

The accumulated crude output of Liuhua 16-2, China's first self-operated deepwater oilfield cluster, exceeded 5 million cubic meters, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced on Nov 11.

The oilfield cluster has shown stable performance since it went into operation last September.

The Haiyang Shiyou 119 Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, the first FPSO facility independently developed by China and the core facility of the oilfield cluster, has played a crucial role in the production, storage and export of offshore oil and natural gas.

According to CNOOC, Haiyang Shiyou 119 exports a shipment of crude oil every six days. As the only facility equipped with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) treatment facilities in the oilfields in the eastern part of the South China Sea, the FPSO exports a shipment of LPG products every five days during peak periods.
