China Huaneng Holds Open House Event at Lower Sesan 2 Hydropower Station in Cambodia

China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. (China Huaneng) recently held an open house event at the Lower Sesan 2 Hydropower Station in Cambodia to showcase the country's largest hydropower project and the company's efforts in fulfilling its overseas social responsibilities.

Located on the main stream of the Sesan River in Northeast Cambodia's Steung Treng Province, the Lower Sesan 2 Hydropower Station was built and is operated and managed by a joint venture company established by China Huaneng, the Royal Group of Cambodia and Vietnam Electricity Group.

With a 6,500-meter dam, Asia's longest, the station has a total installed capacity of 400,000 kilowatts, accounting for 20 percent of Cambodia's total power supply.

Its operation has greatly relieved power shortages in the country and improved local people's livelihoods.
