Construction of Croatia's Largest Wind Farm Completed

Updated: 2021-11-08

Construction of the Senj wind farm project in Croatia has been completed, as all wind blowers recently completed hoisting.

Located near Croatia's Adriatic coastal city of Senj, the project covers about 65 square meters and has a total installed capacity of 156 megawatts.

China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO Group) participated in the project and was responsible for construction of 39 4-MW wind generator units and their supporting devices, a booster station and export power transmission line.

Once operational, the project will become Croatia's largest wind farm by providing about 538 million kilowatt-hours of power annually, which will effectively relieve power shortages in the country.

In addition, the wind farm will increase the proportion of green energy in the country's power structure and will contribute to local employment and taxes.
