First China-Invested Wind Power Project in Vietnam Goes into Full Operation

Updated: 2021-11-05

All 16 blowers at the 50-megawatt Chinh Thang wind power project in Ninh Thuan Province in Vietnam went into operation on Oct 18, obtaining operation approval from the Vietnam National Electricity.

Generally contracted by China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd., the project is the first wind power project invested by a Chinese enterprise to be operated for commercial service and use Chinese-brand wind power generator units in the country.

It features thirteen 3-MW and three 3.6-MW wind power generator units and each is equipped with a box-type substation. A 110-kilovolt booster station was built to support the project.

It is anticipated that the project will generate 137.85 million kilowatt-hours of power annually, which can effectively reduce coal consumption and air pollutant emissions and relieve power transmission pressure in central and southern Vietnam.
