China Ships World's Largest SD Patent Ethylene Oxide Reactor

The world's largest SD patent ethylene oxide reactor, with an inner diameter of 8,200 millimeters built by China First Heavy Industries (CFHI), was completed and started shipment on Oct 9.

The reactor weighs about 1,242 metric tons and is installed with 17,867 heat exchange tubes.

It is the core equipment of the Shenghong refining and chemical integration project in East China's Jiangsu Province, a key project for China's development plan for the petrochemical industry.

Its development shows that China has mastered ultra-heavy petrochemical equipment manufacturing technologies and reflects CFHI's capacity in technological innovation and large-scale project construction.
