The new Wittpenn Bridge linking Jersey City and Kearny in the United States recently opened to traffic.
It is expected to relieve traffic pressure in surrounding areas, improve transport capacity and create safer travel conditions.

A section of Route 7 highway in New Jersey, the bridge was founded in 1930. The vertical lift steel bridge has been an artery between the New York metropolitan area and Manhattan with a daily traffic volume of nearly 50,000 drivers and more than 80 water routes.

The project was built by China Construction America, a subsidiary of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC).
It is the first time that an orthotropic plate design was used on a large-scale lift bridge in the western hemisphere. It also set an example of China Construction America's participation in local construction and plays a role in promoting China-US cooperation and exchanges.
