Unit one of Datang Wanning gas power generation project was put into operation on Friday in Wanning of Hainan province, after 168 hours of full load trial operation, said its operator China Datang Corporation.
With a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan ($392 million), the project will create an annual industrial output value of about 1.7 billion yuan and contribute an annual tax revenue of around 150 million yuan, said the company.
After completion, the project is expected generate about 2.6 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually while consuming about 500 million cubic meters of natural gas each year. It will replace about 800,000 tons of standard coal and meet the national minimum emission standards for nitrogen oxides, said Datang.
The project will continuously carry out innovation and efficiency work. With the smart construction sites and smart power plants as the focus, an intelligent security system has been established to ensure the safety control of the whole process of construction.
The project will also maximize profit through isolated island operation mode, improved power grid security, automatic combustion adjustment, online performance analysis and automatic optimization, the company said.
