China Energy Holds Open House at PT. GH EMM Indonesia

Updated: 2021-10-18

An open house event was recently held at China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy)'s PT. GH EMM Indonesia, showcasing the company's contributions to local economic and social development and improving living standards.

The power station was the first overseas coal-electricity IPP project invested in by China Energy. Its first phase included the installation of two 150-megawatt condensing steam turbine generator units that are used to support the open pit coal mine with an annual output of 2.1 million metric tons. The two generator units started operation in 2011.

While stabilizing the station's operation, China Energy also fulfilled its social responsibilities.

Hoiri Jeffrison, head of a village near the power station, expressed his appreciation for the project, as it has created jobs for local people, adding that staff members at the project had also helped build and renovate mosques, roads and bridges, which boosted local economic growth.

Adhering to the principle of "extensive consultations, joint contributions and shared benefits," China Energy has taken advantage of its energy industrial chains and positively pushed forward international development through high-quality international cooperation projects.

It's worth noting that the company has provided anti-pandemic supplies valued at $267,000 to the region where the power station is located since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also in the video of the open house event, Qiu Weiwei, consul general of China in Medan, Indonesia, expressed her willingness to see China Energy's continuous effort in project construction and innovation as well as social responsibility to keep boosting high-quality construction of Belt and Road projects and promoting relations between China and Indonesia.
