The La Paz-El Alto Highway project in Bolivia contracted by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) recently passed its final inspection.
A part of the 976-kilometer highway network that is under construction in the country, the La Paz-El Alto Highway project started in January 2016.
With a total length of 50.24 kilometers, the highway passes through 11 villages and stretches through mountain areas with an average altitude of 2,000 meters.
It is expected to benefit approximately 300,000 residents in affected areas, providing safe, convenient, comfortable and smooth traveling conditions and laying a foundation for operation of a cross-region expressway.
POWERCHINA fulfilled its social responsibilities during construction. It provided more than 800 jobs for local people and drove economic growth in the region.
