First China-Developed FPSO Realizes Daily Crude Processing Capacity of Over 10,000 Tons

Updated: 2021-10-12

The Haiyang Shiyou 119 Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), a super offshore plant that has China's deepest operational depth, recently realized a daily crude processing capacity of more than 10,000 metric tons.

Developed by China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Haiyang Shiyou 119 is the first FPSO facility independently developed by China and the core facility of Liuhua 16-2, the country's first self-operated deepwater oilfield cluster. It is used for offshore oil production, storage and transmission.

Featuring the most complex offshore oil and gas processing procedures in China and the first China-developed light hydrocarbon recovery system, the facility can recycle that gases created during oil production, therefore reducing gas emissions.

So far, the facility has exported more than 3 million tons of crude and 5,500 cubic meters of liquefied gas, equal to the capacity of a  middle-sized inland oilfield.

The Liuhua 16-2 oilfield cluster is located at the Pearl River Mouth Basin and went into operation in early August this year.
