Energy China Group Contributes to Power Supply in Mongolia

An expansion of a thermal power plant in Erdenet, Mongolia, was recently completed and started operation.

The project was signed in 2019. It is a major Chinese foreign-aid project and a part of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Upon operation, it is expected to meet domestic and industrial power demand in affected areas, promote urban energy conservation and environmental protection and boost regional economic growth.

The project was built and adjusted by Hunan Power Construction Co., Ltd. and Central China Electric Power Test and Research Institute Co., Ltd., both subsidiaries of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China Group).
