China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) has delivered MAYAN, the second ship in its world's largest double-rail train roll-on-roll ship series, to its buyer.
Designed and developed by CSSC's Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute and built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited, it is also China's first train roll-on-roll ship with a track-change-based freight handling function.

The 180-meter long and 38.6-meter wide ship has a navigation speed of 14 knots and has been classified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
Equipped with the world's first small-cylinder bore and low-speed diesel engine, the ship meets Tier III emission requirements and is highly-efficient, economical and environmentally-friendly. Last but not least, it has a large carrying capacity.
Based on building experience from CHEROKEE, the first in CSSC's world's largest double-rail train roll-on-roll ship series, MAYAN was built with a 10-percent increase in production efficiency.
