China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China Group) recently signed an EPC contract for construction of an 860-megawatt gas and steam combined cycle power plant in the Republic of Mordovia.
Valued at about $660 million, the plant is to be equipped with advanced gas turbines with outstanding performance in efficiency and effectiveness.
Supported by local government, the project has gained priority in the region. Once operational, it is expected to be the largest unit capacity thermal power project in Russia and to improve power supply in affected areas and contribute to local employment.
