The Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Power Station, the largest power station of its kind in Nepal, was recently delivered to its buyer.
Located on the Tamakoshi River in Dolakha District at the southern foot of the Himalayan mountains, approximately 2,000 meters above the sea level, the station features a 27-meter high and 100-meter long concrete gravity dam and an 8,000-meter diversion tunnel.
With a maximum effective storage of 2.2 million cubic meters of water and a total installed capacity of 456 megawatts, the station is expected to promote Nepal's power resource development and improve power quality for domestic use.
Sinohydro Bureau 11 Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Power Construction Corporation of China, was responsible for the project's construction.
