Central Civil Aviation, Tourism SOEs Re-Arrange Services to Avoid Epidemic Spread

Updated: 2021-08-13

Central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in civil aviation and tourism sectors allocated their operation plans and service projects to provide easy travel services after the resurgence of the COVID-19 epidemic in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu Province.

China Eastern Air Holding Co. Ltd (China Eastern) checked all passengers having been to Nanjing Lukou International Airport since July 6 and 2,913 employees at China Eastern's Jiangsu operations had been put into isolation by Aug 3.

While guaranteeing employees' health, China Eastern has allocated flight plans and arranged ticket changes and refund services for the canceled flights. In terms of flights still in normal operation, the company strictly implemented epidemic prevention and control measures and improved cabin service to avoid epidemic spread.

China Southern Airlines Company Limited has released 14 ticket change and refund notices since July 14.

The company responded immediately to requirements of the Civil Aviation Administration of China for free ticket changes and refunds on Aug 4 and continues to improve online service procedures and efficiency.

Measures including hand disinfectant and temperature monitoring are now taken in passenger check-in and boarding.

A special group has also been established to help arrange aircraft stands, shuttle buses and baggage turntables for flights departing to and arriving from key regions with resurgences of the epidemic.

Cultural and tourism industries have been impacted most by the epidemic.

In response to the epidemic resurgence this year, Overseas Chinese Town Holdings Company delayed performances and gathering activities, and closed theaters and cinemas in regions with a high risk of epidemic transmission despite falling revenue.
