A new direct China-Central Asia freight train service was launched on July 29, linking Central China's Hubei Province with Uzbekistan.
A 50-carriage train loaded with more than 840 metric tons of goods including textiles and home appliances, which were mainly produced by enterprises in Hubei, left Wuhan Railway Bureau Station on July 29.
The train will leave China through Horgos Port and head to Tashkent, capital city of Uzbekistan.
The new route will reduce transport costs and travel time between the two terminals.
Several other routes between Wuhan and Central Asian countries have also operated recently.
The first freight train between Wuhan and Alma-Ata, the largest city of Kazakhstan, run by China Railway Materials Group Corporation, set out on May 20, carrying 652 tons of civil products including bicycles, home appliances and cloth.
