Two sections of the Peljesac Bridge in Croatia were joined together on July 28 local time, a key step in the project.

The six-tower single plane cable-stayed bridge is about 3.94 kilometers long and is the largest local traffic infrastructure project since China and Croatia established diplomatic ties.

A major livelihood project, the bridge is expected to link the southern and northern parts of the country upon completion, improving connectivity of its people and promoting the country's economic and social development.

All three companies are subsidiaries of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC).
