Central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have been in full swing in stabilizing energy supply to Central China's province of Henan which was severely hit by recent heavy rain and flooding.
State Grid Corporation of China (State Grid)'s subsidiaries in Henan urgently allocated 10 power generation vehicles, one direct current power van and two generators on the afternoon of July 20.
So far, three power generation vehicles have been connected to key users like hospitals and traffic departments to provide emergency power.
By 8 am on July 21, State Grid's branches in Henan had allocated nearly 7,000 employees to support power work and sent out 615 vehicles, 80 power generation vehicles and 184 generators to guarantee power supply.
In the evening of July 20, 12 emergency crew members built a 50-meter cable in the water for nearly eight hours, which restored power supply at the ICU ward of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University.

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) lost no time in arranging flood prevention and rescue, ensuring smooth communications and guaranteeing security of oil products and employees' lives.
Employees at the gas stations also provided umbrellas and towels for clients while ensuring flood prevention in surrounding areas.
CNPC's Henan marketing company also released a list of 25 gas stations that provided refueling service during the flood.

In response to oil demands of local governmental departments in Henan for flood prevention and relief, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Corp.) in the region immediately allocated diesel from Zhengzhou oil reserve and gas stations in Longhu district to guarantee oil supply and informed the public of 66 gas stations in service during the flooding period on the early morning of July 21.
Employees of CR Gas in Zhengzhou, a subsidiary of China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (CR), strengthened patrols at key positions like construction sites, old pipe walls and regulator stations to ensure in-time repairing of the faults.
So far, the company has handled 46 gas problems.
During the rainstorm, the company launched its flood prevention emergency response plan to guarantee normal operation of generator units and dispatched more than 20 rescue teams and several rescue vehicles.

China National Aviation Fuel Group Limited (CNAF) and China Huadian Corporation Ltd. in Henan carried out security checks at every depot station and required its employees at all levels to be ready for any emergency.

PipeChina subsidiaries and plants in Henan lowered its line pressure in the pipeline system to reduce operation risks and allocated natural gas and oil resources from other regions to guarantee energy supply.
