Central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) turned out in full strength to support emergency rescue and relief work in Central China's province of Henan after it was swamped by recent heavy rain and flooding.
Fifty rescue workers were sent to Zhengzhou, capital city of Henan, by China Anneng Construction Group Corporation Limited (China Anneng) on July 20, carrying more than 10 sets of rescue equipment.
Later, the company gathered a 153-member rescue group from six Anneng rescue bases nationwide. The rescuers included 11 experts in hydrology, geology and engineering.
The company has also allocated another 300 workers, who are standing by to support the frontline rescue.

An affiliate of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC), China Railway 19 Bureau Group Co., Ltd. at the Lankao-Yuanyang highway project in Xinxiang, Henan arranged a rescue team in the early morning of July 21 in response to severe flooding in the region.
The project department also prepared 13 loaders, ready for the rescue.
On the same day, the Jiamaying resettlement housing project department of China Railway 12th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. on an emergency basis dispatched more than 40 employees to carry five loaders, more than 400 woven bags, six water pumps and 60 shovels to carry out rescue work at the Beiyao Reservoir area.

China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd organized an emergency rescue team with more than 100 members to help with flood relief at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University.
Also arriving at the hospital were 16 water pumps, more than 1,300 sand bags, 300 raincoats and 300 pairs of rain boots.
The rescue team helped drain away the water in the building, clean medical devices and transfer patients.
A subsidiary of China Railway Signal & Communication Co., Ltd. (CRSC) in Henan now has nearly 700 employees on the frontline of flood prevention, repairing roads, cleaning rock falls caused by the heavy rain, setting piles and filling sink holes while strengthening power lines, overhead line systems and signal devices.
