First Unmanned Stator Punching Workshop in Power Generation Equipment Industry Put into Operation

The launching ceremony of an unmanned stator punching workshop was held by Dongfang Electric Machinery Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Corporation, on July 8 in Deyang, Southwest China's Sichuan Province. The workshop is the first of its kind in the power generation equipment industry.

The unmanned workshop was built on basis of the digital workshop of stator punching. Information technologies such as 5G, the internet and the internet of things are used in stator punching production at the workshop, which is also equipped with 12 automatic projects.

In addition to the new projects, eight technological processes from the previous workshop were also optimized, realizing the transformation from man-machine manufacturing into smart production and forming a data-driven management model.

Upon stable operation, per capita stator punching output at the workshop is estimated to increase by 620 percent, with an improvement of 56.6 percent in energy utilization and a reduction of more than 90 percent in labor intensity.
