Energy China Group Participates in Smart Green Power Station Project in North China

Updated: 2021-07-20

China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China Group) recently signed an EPC contract to participate in the China Three Gorges Corporation's new-generation power grid-friendly green power station in Ulaanqab, North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

With a total investment of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.54 billion), it includes the construction of a 1.7 million-kilowatt wind farm, a 300,000-kW photovoltaic power generation zone and a 550,000-kW two-hour power storage facility.

Upon completion, the project is expected to be the first demonstration project to integrate power source, grid, load and storage in China and will be the individual new-energy station with the largest and the highest power storage configuration and ratio in the world.

Based on advanced smart combined scheduling technology, the new energy station will be able to support the power supply during peak hours of electricity consumption and can automatically assist with peak-valley regulation.

It is expected to promote the innovation of technology development, equipment manufacturing and business model in the clean energy industry.
