China Meteorological Administration (CMA) announced on Feb 9 that its meteorological observation quality management system passed the overall certification audit of the China Quality Certificate Centre (CQC) of China Certification & Inspection Group (CCIC), and obtained ISO9001 certificate in December 2020.
The system, meeting requirements of the Guide to the Implementation of Quality Management Systems for National Meteorological and Hydrological Services and Other Relevant Service Providers issued by the World Meteorological Organization, has been fully implemented in meteorological departments nationwide.
It is expected to promote high-quality development of modern meteorological industry construction and reform of technological systems as well as advance internationalization of China's meteorological industry.
CQC has been assisting the CMA in developing the meteorological observation quality management system since 2017.
The system played a role in construction of the International Civil Aviation Organization's fourth Global Space Weather Center for aviation.
