China Launches New Communications Satellite by Long March 3B

A new communications satellite was sent into orbit by a Long March 3B carrier rocket on Feb 4, 2021 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, the satellite will be mainly used in satellite communication, radio and television as well as data transmission.

It will also carry out some technological testing verification.

The Long March 3B rocket was primarily developed by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology.

The launch on Feb 4 was the 360th flight of the Long March rocket.
