China Eastern Promotes Paperless Travel Mode

China Eastern Air Holding Co. Ltd (China Eastern) piloted a smart travel mode at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to apply during this year's Spring Festival travel rush.

Passengers can have check-in procedures in advance through China Eastern's official website, the mobile website, APP and WeChat mini program or use the self-service machines at the terminal.

They can then go through a security check and board the aircraft with the e-ticket or ID card.

These procedures effectively reduce waiting time and gatherings of people at the terminal.

In 2021, China Eastern will increase investment in services to improve passengers' travel experience, strengthen innovation-driven development, optimize industrial distribution and promote smart and refined service.

The company will also promote smart travel mode in other airports nationwide and form a replicable experience to boost high-quality development in the civil aviation industry.
