CDT Beefs up High-Quality Development through Talent-Centered Innovation

The Wu Xusheng model worker innovation workshop of China Datang Corporation Ltd (CDT) was recently nominated among the 100 national demonstration craftsmanship innovation workshops.

CDT has been adhering to innovation-driven development since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012 and has increased investment in innovation and improved innovation platforms.

Wu Xusheng, pioneer of technology development at CDT's Yangcheng power generation company, has presided over nearly 100 technical issues and made breakthroughs in various fields like boiler technical management, safe operation, energy-conservation and high-efficiency operations including burning control and environmental protection.

Named after him, CDT's innovation workshop was launched in 2015.

In early days, several model workers were recruited for tasks in the workshop and the experience of other leading innovation workshops in the field was also learned and adopted.

Later, the company made a whole set of regulations to cultivate innovative talents and increased investment in encouraging employees to innovate.

More young employees also joined in the workshop, studying and discussing professional issues.

In order to better foster talents, more than 30 training and practice rooms like the simulation machine operation rooms, the thermal control operation rooms and the PLC laboratory have been established since 2018.

CDT deepened cooperation with scientific and research institutes and universities in 2019 and introduced new technologies, technical skills and equipment.

Meanwhile, it also optimized enterprise structure and operation procedures and built a technical talent database that benefited operational safety, technological progress and high-quality development.

The company will continue to follow innovative and talent-driven development to realize transformation and upgrading.
