Three major projects of Ansteel Group completed on Dec 18, 1953

Three major projects of Ansteel Group, construction of a large-scale steel mill, a seamless steel pipe plant and the No. 7 blast furnace, were completed on Dec 18, 1953.

The projects were the most important ones of China's first Five-Year Plan (1953-57), and the first key heavy industrial projects to start operation in the country. They resulted in China's first iron and steel base.

An iconic point of socialist industrialization construction, the completions laid a foundation for further progress in China's iron and steel industry.
