China's Chang'e 4 robotic probe was launched by a Long March-3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Southwest China's Sichuan Province on Dec 8, 2018.

Primarily developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the probe features two parts — a lander and a rover named Yutu-2 (Jade Rabbit-2).

The first spacecraft to undertake a soft landing lunar exploration mission in the world, Chang'e 4 is responsible for landing on the moon's surface, more comprehensively collecting in-depth geological and resource data and completing a lunar profile.
