The Harbin-Dalian passenger dedicated line, the world's first high-speed railway in a high and cold area, opened to traffic on Dec 1, 2012.

Surveyed and designed by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) and jointly constructed by CRCC and China Railway Group Limited (CREC), the line goes through the three provinces of Northeast China and is a major part of the Beijing-Harbin high-speed railway.

With 23 stops, the railway has mileage length of 921 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

It is significant in revitalizing the old industrial base in Northeast China and promoting that area's economic and social development as well as the entire country's.

The Ejine-Hami railway, a major Belt and Road Initiative project, opened to traffic on Dec 1, 2015.

Starting from Ejine station in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the East, the 644-kilometer railway passes Gansu Province and terminates at Hami East Railway Station in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

A main section of China's Medium-Term and Long-Term Railway Network Plan, the railway expands eastward to the Tianjin Port and westwards to Central Asia and Europe through the Alataw Pass, forming asecond Eurasian Continental Bridge.

The railway will link to the Ceke port railway in the North, which will be of significance in building new exporting channels to Mongolia and Central Asia.

China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited is established on Dec 1, 2016

China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited was launched after consolidation and restructuring of Baosteel Group Corporation and Wuhan Iron & Steel (Group) Corporation in Shanghai on Dec 1, 2016.

The former was the first ultra-large steel enterprise in the early period of China's opening-up and the latter was the first company of its kind since the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The merged company's three main productsare plain carbon steel, stainless steel and special steel. Its annual production of crude steel ranks first in China and second in the world.
