World's First Hualong One Nuclear Reactor Passes Turbonator Unit Nuclear Steam Start-Up Test

The No. 5 unit of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC)'s Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant in Southeast China's Fujian province completed its first turbo generator unit nuclear steam start-up test on Nov 20.

During the test, the turbo generator reached 1,500 rpm and operated stably at that speed.

Another milestone of the world's first Hualong One nuclear reactor, the successful test laid a solid foundation for future power generation and commercial operation.

A business card to promote China's nuclear power industry to the world, the Hualong One is China's third generation nuclear power technology with completely independent intellectual property rights.

Construction of the generator unit started in May 2015 and critical state was reached for the first time on Oct 21 this year.
