The last test for a CRH5A train with a China-developed traction drive and network control system was held on Nov 25, 2014.

This type of train was developed by China CNR Corporation Limited (now merged with China CSR Corporation Limited into CRRC Corporation Limited).

It was the first time a train had been equipped with a traction drive and a network control system completely developed by Chinese companies, marking that Chinese high-speed trains had been upgraded from China-made to China-developed.

Qinling tunnel's exit section of Shaanxi Province project to divert water from Hanjiang River to Weihe River is completed on Nov 25, 2017

The Qinling tunnel's exit section of the Shaanxi Province project to divert water from Hanjiang River to Weihe River was completed on Nov 25, 2017.

The 98-kilometer diversion project was designed to go through the Qinling Mountains and ended with the 6,500-meter exit section of the Qinling tunnel. It will be the longest hydraulic engineering tunnel in the world when completed.

It is expected that a total of 1.5 billion cubic meters of water will be diverted, which will help relieve water shortages in central and northern Shaanxi.

It will also guarantee water supply for construction of the Guanzhong-Tianshui Economic Zone and the national energy-chemical industry base in northern Shaanxi.
