Updated: 2020-11-23

Puge and Butuo in Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Sichuan province, have been de-listed from poverty, the People's Government of Sichuan Province announced on Nov 16.

So far, China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy) has lifted nine targeted counties from poverty in various regards including education, industries, infrastructure and technical skills.

China Energy shouldered the poverty-alleviation mission in 2013. In the past few years, the company has helped the counties build primary schools for nearly 15,000 local pupils and launched training bases to provide courses on technical skills, medical knowledge and e-commerce.

What's more, it has taken advantage of the local climate to promote the strawberry growing industry and helped sell agricultural products through an online platform.

The company has sent 13 outstanding employees to Liangshan and launched 96 poverty-alleviation projects, allocating 307 million yuan ($46.82 million).
