Changla Mountain Tunnel, the highest highway tunnel in the world, opened to traffic on Nov 23, 2015.

Located in Zadoi County of Yushu Prefecture in Qinghai Province at an altitude of 4,500 meters, the 2,400-meter tunnel plays a key role in the Doilarmarko-Zadoi section of the 309 Provincial Road.

Its opening helped improve local infrastructure and also guarantees transport capacity when natural disasters occur.

The highway also plays a role in regional resource extraction, tourism industry development and economic growth.

China's space robot leads the field at international conference on Nov 23, 2015

A mechanical, robotic arm used for picking up extraterrestrial samples debuted at the 2015 World Robot Conference on Nov 23.

Primarily developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the mechanical arm was the largest and smartest space robot system in China at that time, with the most complex systems and technologies.

It was able to undertake a wide range of operations with heavy loads as well as accurate local operations, making it equal to - or maybe better than - the internationally leading models in quality, load capacity and output power.

The sampling mechanical arm on display was a core product for extraterrestrial body detection and sampling, and is mainly used for unmanned sample picking on the surfaces of extraterrestrial bodies.

China National Cotton Reserves Corporation merges into China Grain Reserves Group Ltd. Company on Nov 23, 2016

China National Cotton Reserves Corporation was approved by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Grain Reserves Group Ltd. Company on Nov 23, 2016.

Since then, the company has no longer been directly supervised and managed by SASAC.

Before the amalgamation, both companies belonged to public service enterprises.

The merge  helped lower management costs, integrated reserve resources, and created new goals according to the requirements of public beneficial companies, which support central government's mission of deepening reforms to state-owned enterprises, agricultural product stockpile regulation, and the supply-side structure of grains and cotton.

World's highest power connection project is completed on Nov 23, 2018

The highest power connection project in the world - situated in the middle of Tibet Autonomous Region - was completed on Nov 23, 2018.

The connection means that the power grids in central and eastern Tibet are now linked.

The project included power connection of the central Tibet-Changdu section and the power supply of the Lhasa-Nyingchi section of the Sichuan-Tibet railway.

It is a challenging ultra-high voltage power transmission and transformation project, constructed in the most complicated natural conditions in the world.

The project is able to transfer 400,000 kW power. This may increase to one million kW in the future.

It will contribute to exploitation and transmission of clean energy in central Tibet, strengthen the structure of Tibet's power grid, and improve power supply capacity.
