Splendid China, China's first theme park, opens on Nov 22, 1989

Splendid China, China's first themed park and a joint venture by China Tourism Group and Overseas Chinese City Group (OCT Group), opened to the public on Nov 22, 1989.

Covering 450 mu (300,000 sq m), the park is still the largest realistic miniature scenic area with the richest scenes in the world.

Featuring two sections, splendid China and a folk culture village, the spot is a window on Chinese history, culture and tourism and is titled "the first man-made landscape in China".

China-developed bio-aviation kerosene is successfully used in trans-oceanic flight for the first time on Nov 22, 2017

A HU497 aircraft, fueled with the No. 1 biological aviation kerosene developed by China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group), landed at the Chicago O'Hare International Airport in the United States on Nov 22, 2017.

It was the first time that the China-developed bio-aviation kerosene had been successfully used in a trans-oceanic commercial flight.

The fuel was made of waste cooking oil and conventional jet fuel, at a ratio of 15:85.

Biological aviation kerosene has become an important part of the future of international jet fuel.

Promoting green and fungible clean energy and pushing forward development and application of bio-fuel with national proprietary intellectual property rights are also significant innovations in building green and low-carbon aviation in the country.
