Chinese central SOE signs agreement to contract Nigeria's most-valued EPC individual project on Nov 19, 2014

An agreement between China Railway Construction Corporation Limited and Nigerian Ministry of Transportation on a coastal railway project in the country was signed on Nov 19, 2014.

Valued at $11.97 billion, it was the largest individual contract among China-contracted overseas projects.

The agreement marked that Chinese railways had moved into a wider range of global markets and were able to cover more fields with improved capacity.

The entire railway was built to Chinese standards and promoted China-developed equipment including construction machinery, locomotives and steel worth nearly $4 billion for export to Nigeria.

During the construction, nearly 50,000 jobs were provided to local people and about 150,000 positions were indirectly created.

Deployment of the basic satellites of Beidou-3 is completed with the launch of the 42nd and 43rd satellites on Nov 19, 2018

China sent the 42nd and 43rd Beidou navigation satellites into orbit on one carrier rocket on Nov 19, 2018, completing deployment of the basic satellites of Beidou-3.

Since then, the Beidou-3 has started system joint testing and performance index assessment, which is a key step in the Beidou system's expansion from regional to global areas.

Primarily developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the 42nd and 43rd Beidou navigation satellites are intermediate circle-orbit ones.
