The De Aar 244,500 kW wind power project in South Africa went into service on Nov 17, 2017.

Developed by China Guodian Corporation (now merged with Shenhua Group into China Energy Investment Corporation), it is the first integrated wind project in Africa invested, constructed and operated by China.

The two phases of the project, involving installation of 163 fans, were synchronously built.

Confirming that China's wind power projects and self-developed wind power equipment have gone global, the project produces a large amount of clean energy for the affected areas and deepens cooperation in energy and economic fields between China and South Africa.
