Ogun project, Nigeria's largest power plant, starts operation on Nov 14, 2012

Four 125 MW gas turbines and two 125 MW steam turbines of the Ogun project, Nigeria's largest power plant, were connected to the grid and began generating electricity on Nov 14, 2012.

Contracted by Power Construction Corporation of China, Ogun project was the first to realize power generation goals and ready to be delivered as a whole among the three power stations with combine cycle units constructed in the same period.

The operation, management and maintenance of the plant set a good image of the Chinese enterprise and promoted economic growth, improving livelihoods in Ogun State.

The company also launched an electric power talent training center for the project, opening regular courses for Nigerian employees. The center contributes to talent resources for power plants in the country and provides a wide range of jobs in the power industry.
