China-Laos Railway Project Signed on Nov 13, 2015 

A signing ceremony of the China-Laos Railway Project was held in Beijing on Nov 13, 2015. It was a signal that construction of the project was about to start. 

A major section of the middle line of the Trans-Asian Railway, the China-Laos Railway is the first overseas railway directly connected to the Chinese railway network. 

Primarily invested, constructed and operated by China, the railway was built to Chinese standards with Chinese machines. 

Many enterprises including China Railway Group Limited, China Railway Construction Corporation Limited and Power Construction Corporation of China contributed to the 418-kilometer railway. 

The project greatly drives Laos' economic and social development and at the same time stimulates regional economic growth in southwestern China. 

China-invested Gwadar Port in Pakistan Opens on Nov 13, 2016 

China-invested Gwadar Port in Pakistan opened to navigation on Nov 13, 2016. 

Contracted by China Communications Construction Company Limited, the port is also operated and managed by the Chinese enterprise.

A major project under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the port is a demonstration project for the two countries' cooperation on production capacity and an engine of economic growth in western Pakistan. 

It is expected to evolve into a marine transfer station integrating reshipment, storage and transportation and to become a major hub of Central Asia.
