Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd. was founded on Nov 6, 2008 through the reorganization of China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I) and China Aviation Industry Corporation II (AVIC II).

The company is active in aviation weapons equipment, military transport aircraft, helicopters, mobile systems, general aviation, aviation research, flight testing and aviation supply chains, as well as professional equipment, auto parts, asset management, finance and engineering construction.

To date, it has more than 100 member units, 27 listed companies and over 450,000 employees.

Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel, the deepest deep-sea tunnel in China, is completed on Nov 6, 2018

Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel of Subway Line 1 in Qingdao, Shandong Province, the deepest and longest deep-sea tunnel in China, was completed on Nov 6, 2018.

The tunnel is the first cross-sea subway in the Chinese mainland and has the longest section through a fault fracture zone.

The tunnel is 59.97-kilometers in total and the cross-sea section spans 8.1 kilometers.

The subway is expected to open in 2020 as a high-speed rail traffic corridor connecting south and north Qingdao.
