Online-Offline Mode Improves Customs Clearance Efficiency

Updated: 2020-11-03

An online-offline integrated customs clearance system is being used on exhibits to be displayed on the upcoming third China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, according to the Shanghai Customs District on Oct 25.

So far, exhibits valued at more than $8.7 million have completed customs clearance procedures.

Although the event is held offline, most customs clearance procedures are carried out online. For example, the paperless customs clearance system is being used the first time in the event, which makes it easier and more convenient for exhibitors to transport their goods into China.

In response to requirements of epidemic prevention and control and to strengthen security risk control, the General Administration of Customs canceled approval of animal and plant products without quarantine access certificates. Those that have already obtained the certificate can apply for approval in Shanghai.
