CIIE Heralds Future Traveling Experience

Updated: 2020-11-02

In addition to traditional automobile products and technologies, new ones will be on show at the upcoming third China International Import Expo (CIIE), heralding traveling experiences in the future.

Covering about 30,000 square meters, the automobile exhibition area of this year's CIIE will display the different advantages in private vehicles, auto parts and related services as well as offer a professional auto platform to support communication between the government and enterprises and to provide chances for innovative cooperation, branding and fulfilling of social responsibilities.

The event is expected to contribute to reform of the entire automobile industrial ecosystem.

For the first time a smart travel zone will be set up at the CIIE event, which will focus on unmanned driving, intelligent connected vehicles, cooperative vehicle infrastructure systems, control systems and core sensors.

Enterprises with leading and key technologies in the field will participate in the event.

A new face at CIIE, Michelin Group plans to stage the Asian debut of its Unique Puncture-Proof Tire System.

It can reduce the risk of air loss failures caused by punctures or road hazards through specially developed hub units. The system is expected to be used on a passenger vehicle as early as 2024.

3D printing will be another keyword at this year's CIIE.

Another newcomer to the event, Icona Shanghai, will bring two concept cars, a 3D printed automobile chassis of an unmanned driving vehicle that can be used in various settings as well as a robot equipped with an artificial intelligence system and 5G modules.

New technology in automatic driving is a forever topic. Webasto Group, an acquaintance to the CIIE, will showcase its car roof installed with automatic driving sensors, a folding car roof system and smart front-end modules.

It will be the third time Bosch has attended the CIIE event. This year, it will introduce its electrified, automatic and internet-based technologies.

One example is its multi-functional camera used on heavy-duty commercial vehicles, which has such functions as road sign recognition, lane keeping alerts and automatic emergency braking.
