Open Capacity of World’s First 5G SA End-to-End Network Verified

Updated: 2020-10-13

A 5G open capacity platform was recently developed by the China Telecom Corporation Limited Research Institute and a subsidiary of China Telecommunications Corporation (China Telecom) in East China's Zhejiang province.

Considering the actual scenario and demands of Tencent's video business, China Telecom improved the routing and evolution of scheduling, the Quality of Service (QoS) strategy and users' positions to 3GPP standards and made flexible matches on the 5G platform, which were later used in CDN internet business.

In the meantime, network capacities including real-time distribution scheduling, QoS acceleration and positioning based on Tencent's video business were verified through the 5G SA network provided by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. in Zhejiang.

The test verified that the 5G SA end-to-end network can provide quick broadband and high quality QoS while reducing latency and internet lag, which greatly improves users' internet experience.

The verification of the open capacity of the 5G SA end-to-end network was a deep convergence of 5G and internet applications. It was also a result of the differential smart service and a start of the 5G-based B2B2C cooperative model between operators and internet enterprises.

China Telecom will continue to join hands with Tencent and Huawei on technological innovation and promote the product nationwide. What's more, they will keep improving the internet and platform to offer higher quality service to 5G users.
