Tianzhou 1, China's first cargo spacecraft, burned up in the Earth's atmosphere under control after completing its missions during the space lab stage and subsequent testing on Sept 22, 2017.

Manufactured by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Tianzhou 1 was the first space cargo ship developed independently in China.

During the mission, Tianzhou 1 successively verified a series of key technologies including space station cargo resupply, in-orbit propellant refueling and independent fast rendezvous and docking, which accumulated important experience for the development, construction and operational management of China's space station.
